Calton Community Council held a busy information evening on 28 September about the Safer Drug Consumption Facility planned to be included in the current medical facility on Hunter Street.
Attendees heard from, and were able to question, Dr Saket Priyardarshi and Kelda Gaffney from the Health & Social Care Partnership and Dennistoun Councillor Allan Casey from the city’s Alcohol & Drug Partnership.
Local residents raised many concerns about illegal drug issues to which the panel responded.
The Community Council will be holding further information sessions both before the planned opening of the facility in summer 2024 and during its operation.

On a similar note, Councillor Allan Casey shared his thoughts on the potential benefits to the local community to the Glasgow Times, which can be read on https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/news/23831698.community-engagement-key-consumption-room/
