An extra, informal meeting of the Calton Ward Area Partnership was held on 02 August to review the proposals put forward by members of the public as to how the £1m Neighbourhood Improvement Infrastructure Fund should be spent. This is a trial system as outlined by Derek Speirs of the City Council at the Calton Community Council meeting on 08 June. The meeting was attended by 3 Ward Councillors, Greg Hepburn, Cecilia O’Lone and George Redmond and a representative of Calton, Bridgeton and Parkhead Community Councils.
Although the number of submissions wasn’t high, it was clear that there is a wish to improve our roads and pavements, provide refuse bins and public toilets and enhance public areas.
The process is ongoing and more updates will be issued.
