Planning Application – Replacement Windows in Listed Building

Image of existing windows as included in the planning application

We have received an application to replace existing timber sash and case windows at 208 Hunter Street on the front side of a listed building with like-for-like timber frames and slim double-glazed units.
The current windows show signs of deterioration, with poor thermal performance and damage caused by the prevailing wind on Hunter Street. The sandstone cleaning process has affected the aesthetic, giving the windows a frosted appearance.
The proposed replacement aligns with preservation policies, ensuring the conservation of the historic building while enhancing energy efficiency. The replacement windows maintain the original design, addressing significant issues in the existing windows that render them incapable of repair.
