25/02362/FUL – Calton Fire Station 40 Mcfarlane Street Glasgow.
Last date for comments: 9th February 2026
Summary:
The application 25/02362/FUL concerns external upgrade works at the operational Calton Community Fire Station, 40 McFarlane Street, proposing resurfacing, level adjustments, an attenuation tank, new fencing, gates, barriers, lighting and associated infrastructure. The works strengthen drainage, security and site functionality, but provide little context on why they’re needed, offer no biodiversity improvements, and continue a piecemeal approach without an overarching site plan.
Note there were also plans – ref 24/01698/FUL – back in 2024 for the building on the site as reported by Chloe, which have since been approved.

CCC Response Proposal:
After reviewing the plans we propose CCC support this application which improves the site and environment for our local firefighters. The advantages in our view far outweigh any disadvantages. However, we welcome any views on this from fellow councillors and the wider community and will incorporate you into the CCC representations.
