Licensing Application – Variation to McChuills Licence

An application has been received for a Variation of Premises Licence. The applicant, Nicholas B Stewart, is at the address of McChuills, 80 High Street. The variation is quite detailed and so has been directly copy-and-pasted below:

“Variation proposes to a) increase off sales commencement hour on a Sunday from 12.30pm to 11.00am; b) remove restaurant facilities; c) permit outdoor drinking facilities within and outwith core licensed hours; d) amend the layout of the premises by incorporating an external area at the side of the premises to seat 33 persons, show seating in part of former kitchen area and addition of new green room; and e) delete existing children and young persons access terms and replace with the following – Accompanied children and young persons aged 0-17 years will be admitted to the premises for food, soft drinks and to attend gigs and functions. Unaccompanied young persons will be admitted, subject to the following; For gigs specifically, accompanied children of 14 and over and young persons will be admitted, providing they are in possession of statutorily approved ID. These gigs will be advertised as “Under 18s”. Said children and young persons attending concerts may stay to the end of the gig but will not be permitted to remain in the premises after the concert. Children attending gigs will not be allowed in front of or in proximity to the bar counter. Accompanied children and unaccompanied young persons for food and soft drinks until 9.00pm. Accompanied young persons for food and soft drinks until 10.00pm. Accompanied children and young persons attending 3rd party booked private functions (not gigs or concerts) may remain until the end of the function. Accompanied children of 14 and 15 and young persons attending gigs or concerts may stay to the end of the gig but will not be permitted to remain in the premises after the concert”
