Planning w/e 12th September

There have been no new planning applications this week in the Calton.

We have however:

Sent an Email chasing a response regarding when the pre-determination hearing will be taking place for the 23/00026/FUL – 58 – 72 Charlotte Street (OFFICIAL) development.

Sent an Email to Suzanne and Natasha at Detail Residential Developments Ltd regarding 23/02880/LBA, 23/00635/FUL Former Police Buildings at 4 – 16 Turnbull Street Glasgow regarding concerns about the length of time with no activity on the building as it deteriorates further.  The planning applications were all approved towards the mid-end of January 2025 – so the planning process is partly to blame – but it has been over 7 months since the approvals and absolutely no action has been taken on the building that I can see.  We copied in the planner involved (Suzanne) asking if the planning consent has any time limitations.

Thanks for contacting Natasha about the District Court. We live opposite and have been in contact with her. Can you let us know her reply please? Regards

Hi Brian, I too live opposite the site and am dismayed on its current and deteriorating state. I have not received a response from either Suzanne Cuisick of Glasgow City Council planning department or ‘Natasha’ of the applicant, a company called ‘Detail’. I will keep chasing for a response. For your info though, the approval terms for the application states the plans are valid for 3 years after approval when works are expected to take place or the plans are invalid and need to be re-applied for. This will therefore be 3 years from mid to late January where the Ful and LBA applications were approved.
