Work continues on Saltmarket Railway Bridge

Network Rail’s repairs to the Saltmarket Railway Bridge recommenced on the 5th of January, moving onto stage three of the planned work. Below, you can see a schedule of work for Stage 3 of a total of 5:

5th Jan – 8th FebSaturdays 22.00 – 07.00Ballast retention work and on track mechanical preparation and painting of girders
4th Feb – 1st AprMonday to Friday 12.30 – 23.00Steelwork and strengthening works, which will include an element of rivet bursting on each shift
1st Apr – 14th MaySunday to Friday 07.00 – 18.00Painting bridge and then removal of scaffolding and traffic management
