John Grady MP Glasgow East
“I write to express my apologies, and apologies for my staff, for the upcoming Calton Community Council meeting of Thursday 13th March.
I continue to carefully consider the proposals and documents that you have previously sent me about the Barrowland Park and I will provide you with a full response to your email in due course.
As I am unable to attend this meeting, I have outlined below some of my recent work in the Calton area below. I have also recently launched my newsletter, which provides monthly updates of my work in the Glasgow East constituency and at Westminster. If you would like to receive these updates, please sign-up using this link.
1) Following the previous Calton Community Council meeting, I have raised concerns about pavement repairs, lighting and cleansing at St Andrews Square with Glasgow City Council. The council have addressed these concerns and I am pleased that a site visit was carried out to view the pavement and that the lighting faults have now been repaired.
2) I have met with Police Scotland representatives to discuss ongoing concerns about football celebrations in the Calton area.
3) I have held a walkabout with Police Scotland and other Glasgow MPs where I discussed recent issues that I have been contacted about in both the Merchant City and Calton areas relating to the misuse of drugs.
4) I continue to hold weekly advice surgeries across the Glasgow East constituency where I discuss a range of issues affecting constituents. To arrange an appointment, please contact me on my website www.johngrady.uk or through my email address: john.grady.mp@parliament.uk
Kind regards,
John Grady MP
Scottish Labour Member of Parliament for Glasgow East”
