Our response to TRNSMT’s Licensing Application

On 01/05, Calton Community Council submitted a response to PEL01120, DF Concert’s temporary public entertainment license for TRNSMT. Unfortunately, this response was submitted beyond the deadline, but we hope it will still be considered as the guidance states “If your objection or representation is received after the consultation period it will be treated as “late”. This means that it may still be taken into account but you will have to explain the reason why the objection or representation was not submitted in time.” You can read our response below, which was informed by community reactions and conversations with local residents.

Good afternoon,

On behalf of Calton Community Council, I would like to submit our formal objection to DF Concert’s licensing application, PEL01120. We apologise for sending this beyond the deadline but hope that you will still consider it.

Previously during the TRNSMT Festival, holes have been drilled in the pavement, and when not repaired after the event, they eroded and caused further damage. Due to the lack of repairs to restore the damage to the local street fabric, we feel that DF Concerts should not be granted another license as they risk causing further damage when they erect the fencing for TRNSMT again.

However, we are willing to reconsider this stance should DF Concerts repair the damage before this year’s festival, and formally take responsibility for repairing any caused this year.

Kind regards,

Calton Community Council
