Sunny Cycles – Petal Power

Sunny Cycles has introduced Petal Power – a simple, community fundraising campaign where people grow a sunflower to support inclusive cycling

The idea is really simple: people donate a minimum of £5, plant a sunflower, and take part in a fun, community challenge over the summer.
But behind it, there’s a bigger purpose, helping us continue to provide cycling sessions for people of all abilities, including those living with disabilities and hidden disabilities.

Why we’re doing this
At Sunny Cycles, we run activities 6 (and often 7) days a week, providing not just cycling opportunities but a space for people to build confidence, connect with others and support their wellbeing.
Petal Power is about bringing more people into that journey in a simple, accessible and positive way.

Key moment to get involved
We’re encouraging everyone to plant their sunflower seeds over the next fortnight between 20th April and 3rd May.
This is the key window for people to sign up and take part, so any support in sharing during this time would make a huge difference.

How you can support
If you’re happy to, we’d really appreciate your help in sharing Petal Power with your networks. This could be:
• Sharing on your social media
• Including it in your newsletter
• Encouraging your staff, members or groups to take part
• Even joining in as an organisation
We’ve made it as easy as possible for people to get involved, no garden needed, just a seed and a bit of creativity.
