An application has been received for external alterations to replace cladding at 16 Hunter Street, also known as the student accommodation block Havannah House.

In the Planning Statement, the applicants explain that the works are to replace the white, yellow and green courtyard cladding boards with equal sized, similarly coloured boards.

The new cladding panels retain the existing design and structure, with the only changes being the panels material and colour. The material is shifting from a high pressure laminate board to a fibre cement board, and the colour of the new cladding will be “parchment” and “antique white”. An example of this new colour arrangement can be seen below.

Further details can be found by searching for application 24/01429/FUL, and all comments, views and objections should be submitted to by 18/07/2024. These should go directly to Glasgow City Council, but we would love to be copied in, using the address planning&licensing@calton-community-council.scot. Similarly, you can ask us any questions on this application at the same email.
