There are no new planning applications for Calton Community Council area this week.
We have made the following representation in support of new signage at Moncur St.
Subject: Representation in Support – Application 25/02445/ADV | 64 Moncur Street, Glasgow G40 2SL
Dear Mr Batty,
On behalf of Calton Community Council, I wish to record our support for the above application (25/02445/ADV) concerning the display of one internally illuminated fascia sign and one internally illuminated projecting sign at 64 Moncur Street, Glasgow.
We have reviewed the submitted details and consider the proposed signage to be appropriate for the following reasons:
- Sensitive design and scale: The fascia and projecting signs are proportionate to the building frontage and avoid any excessive or intrusive features.
- Improved visibility and legibility: The illumination is modest and ensures the premises can be identified safely and clearly, particularly during evening hours, without creating glare or disturbance.
- Contribution to local character: The signage reflects a contemporary but restrained design that complements the ongoing regeneration of Moncur Street and supports a vibrant streetscape.
- Support for local business investment: The proposal represents a practical enhancement for the applicant, Gaun Yersel Ltd, enabling effective operation and visibility while signalling confidence in the area’s economic growth.
- Compliance with amenity and safety considerations: The signs are positioned to avoid obstruction, distraction, or adverse impact on neighbouring properties, ensuring they meet both planning and licensing expectations.
We therefore respectfully request that Glasgow City Council grants approval for this application.
